"Certification establishes an order and is a mark of quality" (F. Garofoli)
The Garofoli Group has always strived for quality, promoting the sustainable development of its own activities and pursuing a strict environmental policy. This philosophy has led to the achievement of some significant objectives.
In 2009 Garofoli S.p.a. obtained the particularly important PEFC certification (Program for Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes), the most widespread and famous scheme in the world for the sustainable management of forests. The PEFC ensures that the wood used to make wooden products comes from forests which are managed sustainably on environmental, economic and social levels. The CoC (Chain of Custody) is a system used to trace certified material from the forest to the finished product, and guarantees that PEFC-certified Garofoli doors are made using wood sourced from these forests.
OHSAS 18001 Certification
OHSAS Certification 18001 (Occupational Health & Safety Assessment Series) attests to the voluntary application of an Occupational Health and Safety Management System. Garofoli S.p.a. has added this organizational tool to its regulations for organically and systematically managing worker safety by assessing risks beforehand and reducing them through preventive actions based on a continuous improvement plan.
Quality has always been one of the guiding values of the Garofoli Group. And in view of the materials used to make doors and coordinates, this quality cannot ignore profound respect and continued protection of the environment. This is why we have decided to take another step in the direction of increasingly sustainable, eco-friendly production to safeguard our planet. Since October 2015, we can officially certify our products with the FSC mark, a guarantee of the eco-friendly origin of the material used and therefore, of eco-sustainable finished products.
The FSC® mark identifies products containing wood from forests sustainably managed in line with stringent environmental, social and economic standards. The forest of origin is checked and assessed independently for compliance with these standards (principles and criteria of responsible forest management), as established and approved by the Forest Stewardship Council® A.C. via the participation and consent of interested parties.
The FSC® is an independent, non-governmental, and not-for-profit, international organisation, established in 1933 to promote sustainable management of forests and plantations. Not only is it synonymous with quality and innovation, it is a reference point for the legality and sustainability of the wood-paper supply line, compliant with the highest current standards of forest resource management.
The FSC certification joins two more important eco-certificates obtained by the Garofoli Group:
CoC/PEFC and ISO 14001.
ISO 14001 certification
The company has chosen to become ISO 14001 certified in order to establish, uphold and improve its own environmental management system. The system must help the company to limit the environmental impact of its activities as it systematically strives for improvement in an efficient and sustainable manner. By adhering to this standard, Garofoli S.p.a. undertakes to improve all company activities and to constantly review its environmental policy.
ISO 9001 certification
Since 2001 Garofoli S.p.a. and Gidea S.r.l. have been certifying their own activities using the Quality Management system, in accordance with the ISO 9001 standard. Garofoli aims to design highly accomplished products in order to satisfy the requirements of its customers, meeting their expectations both at the start of the process and subsequently.
